About

I grew up in Pawleys Island, SC. I spent most of my time outdoors as a kid and even now as an environmental scientist. My paintings are inspired by my favorite scenes from the Lowcountry: Swamps, Marshes, Hunting, Fishing and dogs.

I grew up as a surfer and spent my summers working at my parents’ restaurant: Franks and Franks Outback. I graduated from Wofford College with a degree in Environmental Studies in 2021. I have been working for American Mitigation Company, a wetland mitigation company since then. The cypress swamps of the southeast are arguably my favorite scene in the South - though I am still a sucker for tailing fish, decoying ducks and marsh sunsets.

My road to painting began with dog portraits. It all started with normal dog portraits, but slowly transformed into showing a dog’s personality through the composition of the painting. My next muse was my husband - I have a whole wall (or two) of paintings of us either fishing, hunting, or adventuring- each one a happy memory. It all started as a way to cover my walls with happy stories, but soon I was doing commissions to capture other people's stories or dogs. That led me to my current position of painting Lowcountry scenes, because if you’ve been here, you may want a story or memory to hang on your wall.
